Quebec strategy to reduce to use of drinking water

This strategy is registered within the global context of tightening the policies with regard to water, with the aim of an integrated management and a perspective of durable development.

 

Objectives of the strategy for 2017

• Reduce by at least 20% the average water consumption per person for the whole of Quebec
• Reduce the amount of water loss for all the water aqueduct systems to a maximum of 20% of the volume of the amount of water distributed.

If the objectives are not reached

• Install water meters in the non-residential sector;
• Introduce adequate billing after consultation of the municipa.
